Dragon and Luffy coudn’t be more different

Let’s set the stage with the stark contrast between Dragon and Luffy. (spoilers until chapter 1098)

Dragon, the level-headed leader of the Revolutionary Army, is as rational as they come, steering clear of Luffy’s trademark recklessness.

Some argue that Luffy’s improbable survival is just a byproduct of plot armor, a narrative shield keeping him afloat in a sea of peril.

Some say Luffy is the reincarnation of Plika, the plot god (lol).

Now, onto the nitty-gritty of the Revolutionary Army’s operations.

The Rev Army doesn’t blindly throw themselves into battles; they’re calculated, strategic, and ready to make sacrifices for the greater good.

Dragon, as the mastermind behind this colossal organization, plays a long game, fighting against the greatest force in the world. And people dont want him to throw away all the sacrifices to save one commander/person on a suicide mission.

It’s a stark departure from the Yonko lifestyle, with responsibilities extending beyond individual ambitions.

This and many other one piece communities are rightfully angry and upset about what happened to Ginny and not having a bio kid with Kuma however Dragon had no idea what was gonna happen, the government did a surprise attack on the freedom fighters and he didn’t risk the lives of all his ally’s for the greater good.

Let’s address the Ginny predicament.

While some fans point fingers at Dragon for not initiating a rescue mission, it’s crucial to acknowledge the formidable enemies he would face – CP0, God’s Knights, Gorosei, Kong, Sengoku, and the Admirals. It’s a formidable lineup that makes Luffy’s past challenges seem like child’s play.

I’m sure if it weren’t Celestial Dragons he would’ve done something after all she was part of the RA, a commander and above it all someone special to Kuma. But she was taken away by CD all the way up to the Holly Land. As much as it pains me to say it but it wouldn’t been good for the RA to risk it all.

The memes poking fun at Dragon’s perceived inaction are chalked up to an agenda, perhaps fueled by Shanks fanboys fearing that Dragon might outshine their “top 1.”

Luffy’s reckless tendencies.

Now, if you’ve been following the Straw Hat adventures closely, you might have noticed that Luffy’s old man, Dragon, is not exactly cut from the same cloth as his rubbery son.

While Luffy is out there punching Admirals and challenging Emperors, Dragon takes a more calculated approach.

Some might even say he’s the Dumbledore to Luffy’s Harry—minus the magic wand and the whimsical beard, of course.

Sure, the guy’s got more plot armor than a protagonist in a soap opera, but hey, it’s all part of the grand tapestry that is One Piece.

As one astute fan pointed out, logically speaking, Luffy should have met his end in Impel Down or possibly even earlier. But nope, fate has other plans for our stretchy hero.

Destiny seems to have a thing for Luffy, and even when faced with overwhelming odds, he manages to come out on top—call it luck, call it destiny, call it the will of the D.
